Our Story

From Vision To Launch

In April 1998, Lead Pastor Chuck Gordon began to envision planting a church in the Greenbrier area of Evans, Georgia.  The vision was simple but clear: to reach disconnected people, lead them to passionately pursue Jesus Christ, and equip them to lead others to do the same, locally and around the world.  It is all about transformation by Jesus...one life at a time!

God would continue to shape and mold the vision and plans for this church over the next several years.  In the beginning of 2004, Chuck, his wife Jennifer, and their three daughters stepped out in faith to begin The Church at Greenbrier.  God provided incredibly...the finances and a team of 34 committed believers.  On September 12, 2004, "The Church at Greenbrier" was launched at Greenbrier High School.

From GHS to Evans 14

God has continued to show His faithfullness and provision to fulfill His vision in powerful ways since our initial launch.  In April 2009, worship services began being held at the "Evans 14 Stadium Cinemas."  Though our location has changed and our name was modified to "Greenbrier Church" to reflect our desire to return, our vision has not changed...to reach the Greenbrier community and beyond for Jesus!

Today Greenbrier Church is a growing community of people committed to creating environments where people can experience God and His life-transforming power.  We believe we are only just beginning to reach people with the life changing message of hope through Jesus Christ alone and the God-given potential He created each person with!  The vision began in a community called Greenbrier, yet we cannot wait to discover what God holds in store as we continue to see Him transform one life at a time.
